The Schneider FLOAT D2W has won the iF Design Award – What makes its design so special?
A product wins the iF Design Award if it achieves a high score in the categories of idea, function, form, differentiation, and sustainability. Looking at the final score card, it is clear that the overall package convinced the jury – with two categories being rated as particularly outstanding: form and differentiation. The latter relates to the innovative swivel mechanism that is used to open the mirror. This technology is unique and amazing and gives the product a floating elegance. Personally, I particularly like the matt black colour and the feel of the material. The Schneider FLOAT D2W is not just a lighting piece that is pleasant to look at – it's also one that is pleasant to touch.
What makes the Schneider FLOAT D2W so special compared to conventional mirror cabinets?
To give a short and concise answer: its oval shape and the innovative swivel mechanism. However, if you take the time to look at the mirror cabinet from different angles, it quickly becomes clear that with the Schneider FLOAT D2W, we have brought a product to market that exhibits the highest precision in its workmanship. Particularly impressive is the combination of form and function – especially when the cabinet is opened. That's because, at first glance, you might think it's a classic illuminated mirror. In actual fact, though, it harbours a kind of illuminated treasure chest, in which you can stylishly store your most important essentials, such as perfumes or care products.
